Client : Global Pharma
Industry : Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
Objective : Achieve efficient wastewater treatment to support sustainable operations an environmental compliance.

Background

Global Pharma, a prominent manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and intermediates, has a steadfast commitment to quality alongside a dedication to environmental sustainability. Operating in a sector with stringent environmental requirements, Global Pharma sought to implement a robust wastewater management system that would effectively treat sewage and industrial wastewater, thereby minimizing its ecological footprint.

Challenge

Pharmaceutical manufacturing generates considerable wastewater that requires specialized treatment before it can be safely reused or discharged. Global Pharma needed a solution that would not only meet environmental regulations but also align with its corporate sustainability goals.

HECS Solution

To meet Global Pharma’s unique needs, HECS implemented a comprehensive wastewater treatment system combining both Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP technologies in complete FRP prefabricated shell
With a 6 KLD (kiloliters per day) capacity, this STP efficiently treats sewage produced on-site, making the water suitable for non-potable reuse.
A 20 KLD capacity ETP was installed to handl industrial wastewater, using advanced treatment technologies to remove contaminants and make the treated water suitable for safe disposal or reuse.

Technological Highlights

HECS utilized recent technological advancements in wastewater treatment to optimize performance and sustainability:
STP – Advanced biological process based on hybrid MBBR Technology. ETP – Chemical, Biological and filtration ensure effective removal of harmfu substances, complying with environmental discharge standards
The system is designed to minimize energy consumption, aligning with Global Pharma’s goals of reducing operational costs and environmental impact.

Outcomes and Benefits

With HECS’s wastewater treatment solutions in place, Global Pharma has achieved multiple operational and environmental benefits
Treated water from the STP and ETP is reused within the plant for various applications reducing the facility’s freshwater requirements.
By meeting regulatory standards and reducing environmental impact, Global Pharma has strengthened its commitment to corporate social responsibility

Conclusion

HECS’s tailored approach and advanced treatment technologies have empowered Global Pharma to manage its wastewater sustainably, reinforcing its standing as a responsible corporate citizen. This partnership showcases HECS’s capability to deliver reliable and sustainable water management solutions for industries with complex wastewater needs, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future
